The Story behind 3e
HBInternational in Vienna, Austria, was established in 1992 by the founder of 3e, Hilary Eckerson, as an onsite training service for companies in and around Vienna, Austria.
The company offered Business English courses in the form of weekly classes and weekend seminars. Clients included GSK (Glaxo Pharmaceuticals at the time), Chalupa (who work with Sotheby's in London), Gillette and Philips iR3.
It later evolved into 3e Language Services, with a focus on English and five additional languages, all taught using the 3e method.
Hilary is multilingual and holds a Master of Arts in Languages and Social Sciences, along with qualifications in Operations, Customer Service and SAP R2. She is TEFL certified for online, business and grammar and is a B1-B2 oral examiner for the Cambridge Certificate in English.
She has over twenty years’ experience teaching languages across Europe and beyond, including Austria, Germany, UK and Sweden. She has also taught Spanish, French and German at high school in the US and Swedish in Germany.
Corporate clients include Bosch, APM Terminals (Maersk), Stahl Chemicals, Roto Frank AG, Manz AG and a subsidiary of EnBw, among others (see About: Testimonials for the full list).
Early in her career, Hilary gained considerable experience in management consultancy, working as training manager for North, Central and Southern Europe, where she delivered courses and presentations in English and other languages.
She later became International Dental Market Manager for Kodak Specialty Imaging, where she provided product training for dental dealers worldwide, often in several languages.
